Football Parking

Changes to game day parking for the upcoming 2012 football season are underway with the start of two exciting construction projects. A new indoor practice facility for the football program, along with a new transportation center for the UI's parking operations, will affect the footprint of the parking areas around and near Kinnick Stadium this year. Look for updated maps and information in the coming months.  Throughout 2012, fans can expect to see progress on the new practice facility located on the western edge of the parking lot immediately west of the UI Recreation Building and south of the Ron and Margaret Kenyon Practice Facility. In addition, demolition of the bubble will also take place after enough progress has been made.

As a reference point, below is a summary of last year's parking information (2011 season). Updated 2012 information will be posted as soon as plans are finalized:

• Kinnick Society and Champion Automobiles: Several rows of Lot 43 (Parking Area A on the map below) north of Kinnick Stadium will be under construction. Lot 14 (Parking Area D) will have 200 parking spaces available and will no longer be an alcohol-free lot.
• Kinnick Society and Champion RV: K/C RV parking will remain a reserved space, but will be limited to approximately 110 spaces and access will be based on Athletic Ticket Priority. First priority will be given to Kinnick Society members. If space remains, Champion members will be provided access based on priority. The new K/C RV parking lots will include 61 spaces in Lot 75 (Parking Area B) and approximately 21 spaces in Lot 46 (Parking Area C). NOTE: There will be limited RV/bus parking west of the UI Recreation Building and on Cambus Circle.
• Golden Hawk Automobiles: Lot 33 (Parking Area G) is a new option with 300 parking spaces. Lot 75 (Parking Area E) and UI Field House Ramp #4 (Parking Area J) remain options.
• Golden Hawk RV: West section of Lot 40 (Parking Area F).
• Silver Hawk Automobiles: Lot 48 on Myrtle Avenue (Parking Area I) is a new option with 250 spaces. Lot 65 (Parking Area H) and Field House Ramp #4 (Parking Area J) remain options. NOTE: Lot 33 (Parking Area G) is no longer available.
• Silver Hawk RV: Lot 65 (Parking Area H)

• Single Game RV Parking: Free RV parking and shuttle service is available from three different campus locations. Lot 71 (UI Athletics Hall of Fame), Lot 85 (Hawkeye Commuter Lot), and Lot 55 (Hancher Auditorium)
• General Public Season RV Parking: Football season ticketholders can order season general parking RV passes via the Athletic Ticket Office and park on the hard surface area of Finkbine Golf Course, the Iowa Softball Complex, and Lower Finkbine.
• The Hawkeye Express "Train to the Game" remains an excellent option for all fans. Read more.
